Earthquake paragraph for HSC
Earthquakes cause great damage. Sudden movement of part of the earth caused by deep cracks in the earth or volcanic eruption.
Some regions are prone to earthquakes and some are even more secure in the event of natural disasters. Some countries like Japan, Iran etc. are often hit by earthquakes. Houses and bridges in these countries are built to reduce shock.
Earthquake prediction is impossible. Major earthquakes wreak havoc on homes and buildings. People are crushed under broken houses.
Most earthquakes are likely to hit the area in a short period of time. So after the earthquake people moved to tents in the open.
When a powerful earthquake strikes a crowded city, thousands of people are killed and injured. Many people are trapped in broken homes and it takes days to rescue them.
The only way to eliminate this damage is to build houses, bridges and roads in a way that will withstand earthquakes.
