Women’s education is very important in the development of the whole nation. About half the world’s population are women. Leaving a woman uneducated and unemployed, no nation can succeed.
In our country there are about 8 crore women out of a total of 16 crore. But, most of them women lag far behind in education.
Women’s literacy rate is estimated at 60%. This level of women’s literacy is important because without their education, our satisfactory development would not be possible. Women need to be educated for a variety of reasons.
To be a responsible citizen of the country, to be an active member of the family and community, to be a good mother or wife and to live a better independent life, a woman must be properly educated.
